About Student Life

There’s always something to see or do with our socializing programme. Enjoy trips to some of the world’s most famous tourist spots, engage in a little culture, and experience the very best lively social scenes.
In addition to making your time with us as much fun as possible, these activities will foster friendships and encourage conversations on many diverse topics, exposing you to the language in a number of unique ways.

Accommodation Students are provided with accommodation and are allocated close to the university, a short distance from the city centre.
Liaison scheduled transfers from/to London airport are included in the programme, fees as appropriate. Learning English in the UK & experience will support you during your stay in Swansea. You will be advised also on free time activities as well as on individual plans and visits.

Activities & Excursions
The social programme is built around your needs so that whatever your interests, you can fully enjoy your stay. You can choose from a wide range of excursions and activities including: ice-skating, golf, sports, swimming, walking, museums, exhibitions, ten-pin bowling, cinema, theatre, restaurants and cultural attractions, depending on the location of the course.

Airport Transfers
We will provide personal airport transfer, the teacher or a member of BL staff will be happy to meet you at the nearest airport. Please ensure the arrival and departure time is after 7.30am. Any flight requiring a personal transfer which arrives / departs before 7.30am will incur an additional charge.

Student Arrival
BL takes great care to ensure that all students are met on arrival by their teacher, a staff member of BL or an appointed driver at the local airport, train or bus station. Please send a photograph with your enrolment form so that your teacher can recognize you. We will also send you a photograph of your teacher and a sign with your name on it that the person meeting you at the airport will be holding in arrivals.

On the first day, you will be shown your home for the period of the course. You are given time to settle in and your BL teacher will explain everything about mealtimes, routines, lessons and the local area. BL will also plan social activities with you according to your interests. In the first lesson, you will discuss your language learning needs with your teacher who will assess your level of English and plan a course of study with you.
